Things Change Psychotherapy & Mental Health Services

My name is Sandy Watters (she/her) and I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and psychotherapist based in Toronto/Tkaranto.

I offer a blend of somatic and cognitive therapy that support my clients in their unique journey to reflect, build resilience and co-create a space of compassion where change can be nurtured and grow toward the life you desire. Humans are not designed to do this alone, and my approach to therapy includes not only the individual support work in session, but also exploring ways to forge deeper connections to community as you re-attune with your most authentic self.

I have been providing community based mental health supports for over 20 years with a focus on youth and young adults through experiencing trauma, homelessness, migration, family conflict, mental health crisis, substance use challenges, relationships, legal issues and systemic oppression. In my years of front line youth work, I have supported youth from marginalized communities including: BIPOC youth, 2SLGBTQ+ youth, African/Caribbean Canadian youth, Indigenous youth, refugee youth and youth with intellectual disabilities. I am of Irish-Hungarian ancestry, born in Tkaranto and I work from a feminist, anti-oppressive and harm reduction approach. I am aligned with principles of liberation and facilitating spaces of community care with this aim in mind.
