ABOUT
I am a social worker, member of the OTSTCFQ, somatic therapist, and therapeutic yoga practitioner.
I offer trauma-integrated services for females in uniform, public safety and emergency services professionals. You take care of everyone else; I hold a safe space for you.
Drawing upon 15 years of experience within the correctional system as a parole officer and a member of a nationwide network of women competing in the World Police and Fire Games before transitioning to private practice, I possess an integrative understanding of operational challenges. My unique background as a clinician, peace officer, and public safety professional allows me to offer compassionate support tailored to the realities of the field. You don't have to explain the culture nor compassion fatigue, defensive cynicism, hypervigilance, organizational betrayal & the impact of shift work.
APPROACH
Privacy and discretion are core pillar of safety and central in my practice. My approach reflects my background and experiences. It draws inspiration from various schools of thought to meet your specific needs and provide dynamic, personalized support. I combine traditional talk therapy with somatic (body-centered) therapy to address how stress and trauma manifest within you.
Why somatic? Because the body keeps the score of your entire life, it never lies and it holds a key to de-armoring, to living to the fullest.
You are the expert of your own life and together, we will collaboratively explore your sensations, thoughts, emotions, and relationships. We will seek to understand and regulate your nervous system. The goal is to help you safely reclaim your body and your story, support your capacity to fully and unapologetically embody who you are, and optimize your social functioning.
DIVERSITY & INCLUSION
Combining intersectionality and interculturality, I apply knowledge in my practice that acknowledges the living consequences of the harms done and promotes the deconstruction of discriminatory beliefs and practices. I am deeply dedicated to creating a safe and attentive space that actively counters systemic and discriminatory harms, as well as colonialism.
