
Joy is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is passionate about helping individuals pursue a life of freedom through authenticity and self-discovery.
Using a trauma-informed lens, she is passionate about supporting individuals navigating the impacts of trauma, particularly complex trauma that can be difficult to recognize and understand. With experience in a variety of areas including life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD, racial & religious trauma, she provides a compassionate and supportive space for those who have experienced being on the margins of society, helping them process their pain, reclaim their stories, and embrace growth.
Joy draws from various therapeutic approaches, including client-centred, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). She believes that healing is nurtured through self-acceptance and the courage to live unapologetically. She is dedicated to walking alongside her clients as they break free from limiting patterns and create meaningful, fulfilling lives.
