Rooted Intention Counselling & Mentorship - Website

Hi! I'm Kaili.

I am a Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP) with 10+ years of experience supporting children, youth, parents, caregivers, and families across children's mental health, school, residential, and inpatient hospital settings.

My work is grounded in the belief that behaviour is communication and that families don't need more judgment — they need understanding, connection, and practical support.

Through Rooted Intention, I offer parent and caregiver mentorship and youth skill-building. I work collaboratively with families to better understand what is happening beneath challenging behaviours, strengthen relationships, build confidence, and develop practical strategies that fit their everyday lives.

Areas of Focus

Parent & Caregiver Support
Support for parents navigating big emotions, challenging behaviours, neurodivergence, family stress, and the everyday challenges of raising children and teens. Together, we explore practical strategies that align with your parenting goals and strengthen connection with your child.

Youth Skill-Building
A safe, welcoming space for children and youth to build emotional awareness, coping skills, self-esteem, confidence, communication, problem-solving, and resilience.

ADHD-Informed Support
I support youth and families navigating ADHD with practical, strengths-based strategies for emotional regulation, organization, self-awareness, confidence, and everyday life. My approach is also informed by my own lived experience with ADHD.

Trauma-Informed & Relationship-Based Practice

My work is informed by training in DDP Level 1, ITATM, Circle of Security, Sanctuary, Creating Presence, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and other relational and skill-building approaches.

My Approach

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to supporting children, youth, or families. My work is strengths-based, trauma-informed, relational, and focused on practical skill-building. I use developmentally appropriate strategies to support emotional awareness, self-regulation, coping, communication, problem-solving, confidence, and connection.

My role is to work alongside you - not tell you what you should be doing. Whether you're a parent looking for support or a young person navigating a challenging season, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered.

As a Child and Youth Care Practitioner (CYCP), my services focus on developmental, relational, behavioural, and practical skill-building support for children, youth, and families. Services are provided within my professional scope of practice and are not psychotherapy.
