Growing Minds Counselling provides flexible, community-based counselling services for children, youth, adults, and families across Greater Victoria and the Cowichan Valley.
The practice is led by Nic Schofield (he/him), Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #20713). The primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with a focus on helping clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and build practical skills that support change in daily life.
Services are offered through community-based counselling, nature-based sessions, school collaboration, and virtual counselling, allowing therapy to take place in settings that feel accessible and supportive rather than restricted to a traditional office environment.
Growing Minds Counselling works with:
Children and youth experiencing emotional, behavioural, or school-related challenges
Teens navigating anxiety, stress, identity development, or life transitions
Adults seeking practical, skills-based mental health support
Families requiring collaborative planning and coordination with schools or other systems
Nature-based and movement-informed CBT sessions (such as walk-and-talk or bike sessions) are available for clients who benefit from being outdoors or engaging in therapy while moving.
The practice emphasizes ethical care, collaboration, and a strengths-based approach, supporting clients to build insight, resilience, and confidence as they move forward.
